Ich bin eigentlich nicht so ein Fan von Produkten, die sich an eine sehr erfolgreiche TV/Film//Buch-Franchise anhängen. Hier war ich allerdings doch sehr neugierig, da mir einige historische Vorfälle durchaus bekannt waren, auf die GRRM seine eigenen manchmal scheinbar sehr abgefahrene Szenen basiert (z.B. die Red Wedding) und ich mehr über seine Inspiration wissen wollte. Frau Larrington schreibt teils als Expertin, teils als Fan und hat mir wirklich viele neue spannende Einblicke vermittelt, insbesondere in die nordische Sagenwelt, die mir nicht so geläufig ist. Mein einziger Wunsch wäre, dass das Buch noch einige Kapitel mehr gehabt hätte und auf noch mehr eingegangen wäre. Dennoch ein echtes "Muss" für alle Fans von Game of Thrones und die perfekte Einstimmung auf die bevorstehende 6. Staffel.
